Solace by Tempest

Releases!

In the interests of being industrious we have three releases which are in the process of being constructed.

The first of which being a vinyl repress of Mahria’s Self-titled tape. Originally released in a limited supply in tape form through Bart records in late 2011, we are repressing it as a vinyl release limited to 300 copies. The music contained within is both engaging and challenging, bringing to mind the power of Hiretsukan and the technical prowess of Capsule. Complex, filthy, raw and draining all come to mind. Check these freaks out if you have not yet.

Secondly we are happy to say that the Tempest – Solace 7 will be seeing the light of day shortly. This is the follow up effort to the Passages lp. We are very excited and proud of what this 7 has become and are extremely happy to share the release of this record with our friends at Vitriol Records. Expect more heavy, chaotic, and bleak hardcore.

Speaking of Passages, we might as well explain the origins of Forged In Iron. Passages started off as a release by our friend Brody on his new label Amputated Limbs. We agreed to pitch for half the pressing in order to get things moving quickly. Brody’s life got hectic and he realised he couldn’t give his full attention to distributing the release, so he graciously offered to give us his half of the pressing. While most people would have at least charged cost for that many records, Brody just gave them to us because he is a great guy. Through touring and playing shows around town we have managed to sell all but nine of this first press and it doesn’t look like the remaining few will last much longer….

… So in the spirit of being prepared for upcoming tours, we are extremely excited to announce that Passages will get a second pressing this spring. We are going to split this repress with React With Protest! They are amazing and we cant thank them enough for all the support.
